Expat Universe was created with the goal of becoming a premiere source of business and personal contacts in the expat community in Central America and the Caribbean for the purpose of allowing would-be exapts the opportunity to develop a network of in-country contacts prior to making the move.

Construction of this website was started in October 2006 and the site was launched on June 4, 2007 by Jason Stevens of Calgary, Canada.
