Expat Universe offers members an opportunity to meet other people interested or living in foreign countries in a known, trusted environment and save valuable time in connecting with the best people, leads and information. Whether you"re looking for information about immigration, real estate, lifestyles, retirement or anything else about living in a foreign country, Expat Universe is the best place to find what you\\"re looking for and to connect with people who share your interests.

To become a member of the Expat Universe service, you must read and accept all of the terms and conditions of this agreement and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to be bound by the terms after you read this Agreement, you may not use the Expat Universe service.

You agree that we may modify the terms of this Agreement or the Privacy Policy, in our sole discretion, by posting amended terms to this Web site. Your continued use of the service indicates your acceptance of the amended Terms of Service Agreement.

You understand and agree to the following: (a) if you choose to register, you must submit a valid e-mail address and select a password and user name during the registration process; (b) You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your member name and password, and all uses of your account - whether or not you"ve authorized such use; (c) You agree to notify Expat Universe immediately of any unauthorized use of your account and (d) You are at least 18 years of age. Expat Universe will not be held liable for any loss or damage for non-compliance. In addition, you understand and agree that the content of all users, including your content, will be collected, aggregated and anonymously integrated into the Expat Universe. You understand, and agree that, unless expressly stated, Expat Universe in no way controls, verifies, or endorses any of the information contained on or in the Expat Universe service, including links, events, messages, message boards and members" private messages.

Although registration is not required to use the website, if you decide to register for Membership, you must complete the Expat Universe registration screen. As part of the registration process for the Service, you agree to: (a) provide certain limited information about you as prompted to do so by the Service (such information to be current, complete and accurate); and (b) maintain and update this information as required to keep it current, complete and accurate. The information requested upon original sign up shall be referred to as registration data ("Registration Data"). Expat Universe reserves the right to delete accounts created by users who appropriate the name, likeness, email address, or other personally identifiable information of another individual.

Expat Universe reserves the right to refuse the Service to any user.

By agreeing to these Terms, members affirm that they will not use this service to harass or abuse other members. Individuals who have demonstrably harassed other individuals via message boards, private messages or using other means may be removed from Expat Universe.

You are fully responsible for any content you post on the Expat Universe, including, but not limited to, photos, personal profile(s), message boards, classifieds, events, testimonials, private messages - and the consequences of any such content.

You understand and agree that Expat Universe may review from time to time and delete any content that violates this Agreement or which might be offensive, illegal, or harm the safety of or violate the rights of other users and members.

Content that is illegal or prohibited, includes, but is not limited to, material, text, graphics, video or audio that: 
- Is unlawful, harassing, libelous, abusive, threatening, harmful, bigoted, racially offensive, obscene or otherwise objectionable 
- Displays sexually explicit material of any kind
- Is intended or designed to disrupt an ongoing conversation via flaming (a message in which the writer publicly attacks another participant in overly harsh or personal terms) or trolling (deliberately posting derogatory or inflammatory comments in order to bait other users into responding). 
- Encourages conduct that could constitute a criminal offense, gives rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any applicable local, state, national or international law or regulation 
- Transmits or posts any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, "spam," junk mail, "chain letters," "pyramid schemes," etc. 
- Transmits or posts any content that infringes upon patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights or other proprietary rights 
- Transmits or posts any viruses or material designed to disrupt, limit or destroy any functionality of any computer software or hardware of users, members or the Expat Universe 
- Collects, stores or solicits information about other users or members for commercial or unlawful purposes or engage in commercial activity such as contests, sweepstakes, etc. without Expat Universe prior consent 
- Contains personally identifiable information about another member that is published without their express consent 
- Contains material originally posted by another member that is reposted without permission or attribution 
- Advertises any illegal services or the sale of any items prohibited or restricted by applicable law 
- Has misleading email addresses or other manipulated identifiers to disguise its origin 
- Contains intense depictions or descriptions of violence or gore 
- Contains obscene gestures 
- Contains profanity that is sexual in nature or that is directed at another member

Note: Hate speech is not acceptable and will not be tolerated on Expat Universe. As defined by Expat Universe, hate speech may consist of symbols or images, as well as text.

Expat Universe defines sexually oriented content as any material that depicts, in actual or simulated form, or explicitly describes, in a predominantly sexual context, human genitalia, any act of sexual intercourse, any act of sadism or masochism, or any other erotic subject directly related to the foregoing.

Expat Universe reserves the right to refuse membership to anyone. Expat Universe may terminate your membership and any and all information, communications or postings, at any time, without notice, for conduct that violates this Agreement.

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES. YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT USE OF THE SERVICES AND/OR ANY GRAPHICS OR OTHER CONTENT YOU DOWNLOAD FROM THE Expat Universe SITE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK AND THAT YOU WILL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM OR LOSS OF DATA THAT RESULTS FROM THE DOWNLOAD OF FILES, SOFTWARE, SERVICES AND/OR ANY GRAPHICS OR OTHER CONTENT. THE SERVICES AND/OR ANY GRAPHICS OR OTHER CONTENT YOU DOWNLOAD FROM THE Expat Universe SITE ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS. Expat Universe, ITS LICENSORS AND SUPPLIERS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. NEITHER Expat Universe, NOR ITS LICENSORS OR SUPPLIERS MAKE ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SOFTWARE, SERVICES AND/OR ANY GRAPHICS OR OTHER CONTENT YOU DOWNLOAD FROM THE Expat Universe. SITE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, OR THAT THE SOFTWARE OR SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR FREE; NOR DOES Expat Universe, ITS LICENSORS OR SUPPLIERS MAKE ANY WARRANTY AS TO THE RESULTS THAT MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE USE OF THE SERVICE OR AS TO THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF ANY INFORMATION OBTAINED THROUGH THE SERVICE OR THAT DEFECTS IN THE SOFTWARE WILL BE CORRECTED. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. IN NO EVENT SHALL Expat Universe, ITS LICENSORS OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, RESULTING FROM THE USE OR THE INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE, SERVICE, AND/OR ANY GRAPHICS OR OTHER CONTENT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, EVEN IF Expat Universe HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. FURTHER Expat Universe SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY TO YOU OR OTHER THIRD PARTIES FOR ANY THIRD PARTY CONTENT UPLOADED ONTO OR DOWNLOADED FROM THE SERVICE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

INDEMNITY. YOU HEREBY AGREE, AT YOUR EXPENSE, TO INDEMNIFY, DEFEND AND HOLD Expat Universe HARMLESS FROM AND AGAINST ANY LOSS, COST, DAMAGES, LIABILITY, AND/OR EXPENSE ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO (A) THIRD PARTY CLAIMS, ACTIONS OR ALLEGATIONS OF INFRINGEMENT BASED ON INFORMATION, DATA OR CONTENT YOU SUBMITTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE, (B) ANY FRAUD OR MANIPULATION, OR OTHER BREACH OF THIS AGREEMENT, BY YOU, OR (C) THIRD PARTY CLAIMS, ACTIONS OR ALLEGATIONS BROUGHT AGAINST Expat Universe ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR SOFTWARE.

This Agreement constitutes the complete and exclusive understanding and agreement of the parties relating to the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior understandings, proposals, agreements, negotiations, and discussions between the parties, whether written or oral. You understand and agree that you are solely responsible for reviewing the terms of this Agreement from time to time. Any continued use of the Software or Service by you after such amended terms have been posted or information regarding such amendment has been sent to you, shall be deemed your consent and agreement to such amended terms.

Protecting your privacy is very important to our website. We will not sell, lease or exchange your personal data to third parties without first obtaining your express consent.

This privacy policy describes how we collect and use your data. If you have any questions or comments regarding our privacy policy or its enforcement, please feel free to contact the administrator.

Expat Universe is an online social networking community that connects people through their personal profiles, forum postings and other means to exchange information related to living in a foreign country, to buy and sell goods and services and perform other transactions.  Members create their own profiles, and those profiles are then shown to other members and visitors of this site.

Your Screen Name and Country are displayed to the public.
Your First Name, Screen Name and Country are displayed to other members.

Expat Universe allows our members to create friend lists.  The personal information displayed to friends is different from that displayed to regular members and the public. When you accept a friendship request, each party to the friendship will be have access to First and Last name, as well as City and Country names as stored in their Profiles.

Your First Name, Last Name, City, Screen Name and Country are displayed to members on your friends list.

Expat Universe allows our members to exchange Private Messages with other members who are on the user\"s Friends list.  The content in Private Messages is NOT encrypted and can be viewed by our staff as required in the normal course of their job.  Our staff may also access these Private Messages in cases where a member has reported any type of abuse as defined in our Terms of Use.

Expat Universe collects information our users submit to us such as their name and e-mail address to allow us to identify users and notify them of changes or updates to our service. We also collect personal information submitted by our users in filling out their profile on the service such as gender, location, age, etc. We collect this personal information when our users: sign up as a member; make changes to their member profile information; and send e-mail messages. Members may choose to provide additional information beyond their basic profile for their other profile sections. Providing additional information beyond what is required at registration is entirely optional, but enables our users to better identify each other and more effectively connect and interact with their network.

Like many other Web sites, Expat Universe uses a standard technology called "cookies." Cookies are small pieces of information stored on your hard drive - not on our site. They can help make the Internet experience quicker and more convenient. Cookies allow our users to login without entering their email address and password each time they use Expat Universe. Members who disable cookies will not be able to use Expat Universe.

Your city, country and full name are displayed when a user invites a friend via email to join the service, when a user requests to add another user to their Expat Universe Friends list, and when we send notifications to a user related to their use of the service. Except when members invite friends, full names are not shared or displayed with people outside of their Personal Network. Email addresses of Expat Universe members are never displayed to other users on the system. Users within a Personal Network communicate on Expat Universe with each other through the Expat Universe service without disclosing their email addresses.

We will not sell, lease or exchange your personal data to third parties without first obtaining your express consent, unless required by law or to protect your membership.

If you use our Invite feature to invite a friend to our service, we will ask you for your friend\"s email address. We"ll automatically send the friend an email inviting them to join your Personal Network, as well as two reminder messages. Expat Universe does not sell these email addresses or use them to transmit any communication other than the invitation and reminders to join your personal Network. Expat Universe stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this invitation and reminders, and for tracking the success of our Invite functionality.

The Expat Universe site may contain links to other Web sites. Please be aware that Expat Universe is not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites our users choose to visit. If our users provide any information directly to parties other than Expat Universe, different rules may apply to the use or disclosure of the personal information disclosed. We encourage you to investigate and ask questions before disclosing your personal information to third parties.

Please be aware that whenever members voluntarily disclose personal information online - e.g., message boards, file uploads, events, and classifieds - that information becomes public and can be collected and used by others. By posting personal information online in public forums, members may receive unsolicited messages from other parties.
